Morgan appeared in a documentary clip Safe Sex for Men and Women about AIDS prevention and education. A portion of the proceeds were donated to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is also on the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has been involved in numerous fundraising initiatives in support of the condition and testified in an Congressional Special Committee on AIDS Education. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Amfar as well as the Board of Governors of APLA. The former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop has been asked to be his substitute in AIDS occasions and has hosted an AIDS Awareness Special together with news anchorman Steve Bell. Morgan has been on Nightline with Ted Koppell regarding AIDS. Morgan was nominated to win an Emmy for her performance in the Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her.
